what we need
How We Are Funded
In 2020* the charity is aiming to raise a minimum of £14,4000 to achieve our objective.
Head Outdoors raises funds to give young people struggling with their mental health access to outdoor team activities to help improve their quality of life and wellbeing.
Head Outdoors pays for services provided by carefully selected organisations such as Hengistbury Head Outdoor Education Centre.
The charity currently funds the Pebble Lodge weekly sessions, and the intention is to increase its reach to other similar groups of young adults targeting delivery of at least one more session per week.
It aims to do this through personal donations, local business support and applying for local and national grants. All funding and donations are hugely appreiated by the Head Outdoors team.
A special thank you goes out to all the local clubs and community of Hengistbury Head who have continued to make such an important funding contribution to the project and its young participants.
*In 2020, Head Outdoors aims to double the number of sessions delivered to young people. This will require us to raise £14,400. Our fundraising focus is to achieve sustainability through balanced donations across individuals and longer term partnerships with local organisations.
how
donations
are
spent
- Each annual programme is £7,200 (40 sessions)
- Each term of half day sessions is £2,400
- Each session is £180
Donations are used to fund programmes benefiting Pebble Lodge inpatients, ex-Pebble Lodge inpatients and Bournemouth CAMHS outpatients.
As a policy, Head Outdoors will only commit to annual programmes and will not start any additional annual programme until it has secured 75% of the funds prior to the start of the first term. In addition, the continued support of the inpatients at Pebble Lodge will be the primary funded programme (some of which is underwritten by the Stiling Trustees).
Donors and sponsors can request periodic updates to learn how their specific contributions are benefiting young people in our community.
